Artist Crunch Talks About ASAP Rocky

ASAP Rocky was finally released from jail in Sweden. He won't have to do anymore jail time thankfully. He missed out on performing several concerts during his incarceration, which essentially means he missed out on several pay days. I question like many others, why he was arrested in the first place; being that he was followed and harassed by a fan. From the video clips I've seen it seems as though the fan instigated the entire altercation. At any rate I'm glad he's out of lock up and back to work and back to life. Artist Joe The Bluesman Blogs About Practice Makes Perfect

Here we are again, time to send out a bit of my thoughts... What am I thinking about? Mostly getting ready for my first gig in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The land of my wife's family and the land of Hatch chilies, truly the best food in the world. But not really thinking about that, thinking about how I'll need to discipline myself in regards to practicing! Practice? We talking about practice, Yes Alan, I'm talking about practice! As you know I have a new single coming out in a few days. The prep work to produce recording is never seen, but at least for me, before I go into the money draining studio, I know the song inside and out. But that means I'm working those songs at the cost of all the others in my set. Like Nigel Rogers said in a tweet, "I don't practice for a day, I know it. I don't practice for 2 days YOU know it!" True words. That is why I am practicing, I even forget the intricate fingering and or the words of even my own songs!

Can you recall the moment when you decided that you wanted to be a musician? Was it an easy or difficult choice to make? A. I knew from the time I was 13 it was for me and it was everything I wanted to do, it wasn't that difficult for me at all. I started out freestyling and didn't really write too well in the beginning. I was actually a better freestyler than a writer at first but I was determined to step my pen ga

Artist Joe The Bluesman Says "Call Your Mother!"

Well here we are, I've been asked to post weekly blogs by my PR man! Yep everyone, even retired people have a boss! But I invite this compelled creativity as maybe a way out of my writer's block I've been experiencing lately. So, this is a good thing. Currently, I just had my 65th birthday, dang I am old! No, I certainly do not feel old, but glad this is the birthday that opens the door for medical insurance that cannot be taken away by anyone. There is a peace of mind with knowing this. But birthdays, at least when you get long in the tooth are a time of reflection. And as an artist, I think it is true with artists, my memory is vivid. I have a lot of childhood memories, I remember lots of good moments, bad moments and moments I do not know why images stay with me. In some way, every one of these memories is woven into the songs I write. An interesting thing you wouldn't know about me, I was born on my mother's 20th birthday! So we shared the same birthday

Artist Crunch Talks About The Manny Pacquiao Versus Keith Thurman Fight

The Manny Pacquiao versus Keith Thurman fight on July 20th at the MGM in Las Vegas, Nevada was built as the old man versus the young man. Keith Thurman vowed that he would knock Pacman out and retire him, but the 40-year-old Pacquiao prepared himself for a different outcome. Manny's speed and punches in bunches proved to be too much for the 29-year-old Thurman. Though Thurman gave a valiant effort it was not enough. Losing on a 12 round split decision. Two of the three judges scored the bout in favor of Pacman. When this fight was first announced my opinion was and is that even at age 40 Manny Pacquiao's speed is still too much for any age fighter. The face of Keith Thurman bruised and battered proved that point.
