Just keep improving my songs, my mental health, my brain/mind in general, and maybe get my musical career off the ground a little. 3. What is your take on politics? Hate politics but I am extremely progressive. Wouldn’t even call it “liberal” or “democrat” but “progressive”. Because I think the world is so messed up and needs a lot of changes. I’m a futurist most of all. Understanding the past is important too to know how we should change/adjust going forward because history often repeats itself.  4. Where did you get your artist name from? My favorite word in the English language possibly is eclectic.  It means like well rounded or in a lot of areas simply put which I consider myself to be. Eclektik is a misspelling of it.  5. Growing up, how important has music been in your life? Can you recall the moment when you decided that ...

A.  As far as the government shut down no it really hasn’t affected me or anyone that I know. 4. What is your take on politics? A.  As far as politics I feel our country is broken and we all need to come together as American people and figure out the solution. There is too much dissension among the American people and among our politicians. It’s time to reach across the party lines and figure out how to make this country better. 5. Where did you get your artist name from? A.  The name Derek Smith, as for the first name it was completely random. Bradley A. Lovell was born on the tiny slice of paradise, Barbados. Known by his artist name, KnB, Bradley is a legitimate child of the eighties whose biggest musical inspirations are rap legends Nas and Tupac Shakur. Bradley possesses a personality and musical style that are just as distinctive and magnetic as his home country. It was in St. Maarten where his musical interest was ignited and some of his early childhood was spent learning to play the drums. His musical skills were further developed in the Cayman Islands, where he performed in his school’s orchestra and later in two musically diverse bands (a swing jazz band and a steel pan band). That young performer has now evolved into the rap artiste/songwriter, KnB. KnB’s music is both free and captivating, often touching on a myriad of social issues and themes that resonate with listeners. The songs can be as serious as Bradley’s deepest thoughts or as playful as his everyday demeanor; “I believe in portraying an ho...

1. Where are we talking from today?  I am at my studio apartment in the west Hollywood area of Los Angeles, California. 2. How is 2018 treating you so far?  It has been an intense year to be honest... I just made a big decision to quit my job as an educator (I worked in schools with kids for my whole life until this past June) and move to LA to pursue my yoga teaching and music career.  So far, 2018 has been full of change... good changes for sure because it means more time for me to focus on my two greatest passions, although it definitely feels a little weird to not be working with kids anymore and has been a challenge financially.  Essentially, this year marks the beginning of a new chapter in my life, and I am just getting started on this next adventure. 3. How did you get involved in music?  My mom made my brothers and I take piano lessons when we were younger, and I am forever grateful for that.  I stuck with it for a while, quit, came back to ...

How did you get involved in music? Music first hit me when I heard the guitar solo in Let it Be (the album version with the solo that comes in hot) when I was around 10. The tone, the bends, the feel, the attack — I didn’t know what those things were at the time but it blew my mind. 4. When did you make music a priority? After college I played in an amazing band called Willie Mays Haze that was going for it but never went anywhere, because that is what happens in this industry and with life. And so I went to law school but am now trying to bring music back into the fold with this band. 5. What inspires you daily to write & record music? It’s the most fun and satisfying thing in the world; like solving a challenging math or logic puzzle only you get to be creative and add harmonies and ...

In a town famous for mobsters and deep-dish pizza, one of Chicago’s most vibrant yet often overlooked cultural exports is its thriving underground music scene. One of those exports is R&B artist Brandon James. Brandon James is a quality songwriter both musically and lyrically, with a fine gift for melody and a voice that is both distinctive and easy on the ear. While it’s hard these days for a songwriter to break through, he has everything it takes and a new album on the way this summer to help him breakthrough. The up and comer Grisly Bk is back at it with a hot trap track -Robe On A Pope- music video. The hard gangsta music brought to mind The Notorious B.I.G.’s debut Ready to Die, unleashed back in 1994. The track highlights open-air crack deals, robberies at gunpoint on the A train and shootouts with the NYPD . The Brooklyn, New York’s rap artist Grisly BK has successfully brought the past into the present with his style. The superior mix constitutes content from the past that’s still relevant at the present. I like Grisly’s ability to embrace emotions as he delivers this track, be able to tone remarkably well yet the track is damn aggressive. If you’re hanging on the fence about this talented artist, be sure to check his E.P, two mixtapes and two singles to get a glimpse of this lyricist. This track portrays an artist that grew up on gangsta music in the crack era. It’s without a doubt that he listened to guys like Kool G Rap , I’m glad we have someone representing Brooklyn so dam...
