1. Where are we talking from today?
Portland.
2. How did you get involved in music?
I’ve been involved in music from a young age. My mother was always a huge creative influence on me, and being from Nashville, music was always around us. I had a strong pull towards bluegrass music since my mother’s family is all deep-rooted in Appalachia. I turned to roots music at a young age, singing in church and gospel choirs. As I got older I became fluent in rock n’ roll and picked up a guitar at age 10. I’ve played ever since, mostly self-taught. From musical theater to covering the Grateful Dead, I have a diverse and lengthy resume.
3. Can you describe your music?
I would describe my music as roots-based folk. I take great influence from Americana traditional folk as well as Appalachian bluegrass. My styling represents the training I have had, in both jazz and rock. My music is both rhythmically inclined and lyrically intricate.
I am working on expanding my playing field, literally. I want to be playing in every city in America, with as many musicians as possible. I would love to get on the festival circuit as well, it being a great hub for fans and collaboration. I am entering a phase of expansion.
5. What would you like to say to your fans and the world?
I would like to thank everyone who has listened to my music. I appreciate the support and love for my craft. It is still young, but I see it going as far as I throw it.
