1. Where are we talking from today?
A. We are talking from my job. I'm at my day job while doing this interview.
2. What would you like to accomplish in 2019?
A. I would like to get some buzz and start making money off my music, so like doing shows and earning royalties is my biggest goal. And then I want to drop at least two projects within the year.
3. What is your take on politics?
A. My take on politics, honestly, I believe the people who are in the government are out for their own personal interests. And it's most evident with our president. He just passed some sort of bill that was really outrageous, and he's been doing that. So I believe the government and everything "political " is not what we need.
4. Where did you get your artist name from?
A. My artist name, Rosary, comes from my last name Rosario. In Spanish rosary is Rosario, so I keep the connection personal and interesting.
5. Growing up, how important has music been in your life? Can you recall the moment when you decided that you wanted to be a musician? Was it an easy or difficult choice to make?
A. Music was always around as a kid, I would listen to Kanye and Jay Z a lot growing up. So the decision to be an artist full time was very recent, like two months ago. Late March because I was stressed out and fed up with college, so I dropped out and I'm putting all my energy into music. It was terribly hard, mostly because I was anxious and the threat of my parents, but I had to do it no matter what.
6. Was there ever a time when you thought about doing something else? If you weren’t a musician today, what could you see yourself doing?
A. When I was younger I definitely wanted to play basketball in the NBA, and then that grew to want to be an engineer. And if I wasn't a musician I would most likely be an artist, like using the pencil as my medium. Naturally, I'm more artful than technical, so something in the arts.
7. What has been the biggest surprise so far about making music your career? What has been an unexpected or welcome challenge to it all?
A. The biggest surprise to me is just the duration and how long everything really takes. You see people blow up almost instantly, but in reality, it's all been years in the making, and so that's biggest shock, is the journey, but I kind of expected it. A challenge is just seeing how many other talented people there are doing the same thing you're trying to do, but I like the challenge because now I have to level up and constantly look to improve in some aspect.
8. What was it like putting together your EP?
A. Putting together my project "Moody Kid" took me two and a half years. And it's an LP, so just a lot of emotions and thoughtful planning really went into it. I'm glad it's done though, and can't wait to see how people receive it.
9. Who are some of your favorite artists or rather, what musicians have continued to inspire you and your music? Who would you absolutely still love to work with in the future?
A. J. Come, Earl Sweatshirt, Frank Ocean, are some of my all-time favorite artists who continually drive me to come up with different flows or feelings. In the future, I would love to work with said persons, drake for sure. So many artists to be honest. So we'll see.
10. What has it been like keeping up with your social media accounts and all of the different platforms? Is it hard to stay up to date on it all? What would you say is your favorite way to connect with your fans now?
A. My social media is very lowkey. I don't post a lot unless it's trying to share my music or other people's music. My biggest challenge is just my effort and considering what I should be uploading to my accounts. And personally the people that I do know that listen to my music are most of my friends, so just hitting them up and hearing their take on what I have to say it's dope. I like to be personal with everything.
11. If you were going to be stranded on a deserted island, what musical item would you take with you and why?
A. If I was on an island I would take an acoustic guitar, and just play and sing. It's one of my favorite instruments and it's so versatile. I would just sing my heart out all day LOL.
12. If your music was going to be featured on any TV show that is currently on right now, which would you love it to be on? Or if you prefer, what is a movie that you love that you wish your music was featured in?
A. I honestly would love to hear my music on an Adult Swim TV show. Because it's not really clean, so I feel the verses and the content on those shows would fit perfectly ha.
13. At the end of the day, what do you hope people take away from your music?
A. I hope people feel and understand what I'm feeling because realistically, I'm not alone in how I feel. So if more people were more willing to be blunt and open about their feelings, we could connect more and have a stronger community. Especially for minorities, because I feel we're forced to stuff our feelings in our throats.
14. When you are not making music what else do you enjoy to do?
A. Outside of making music, I write poetry, do open mics. I'm just looking for ways to be creative and active in the artistic community. I would love to start modeling soon because I really love fashion. I play video games, and just hang out with friends a lot. They inspire me sometimes without even realizing it.
